Policy 9 – Governance and Operations

  1. NSJCA Representative Sub Committee 
    1. The Sub Committee consists of:
      • The Convenor
      • The Deputy Convenor
      • A Girls’ Program Member
      • NSJCA’s Executive Officer 
      • Up to four other members, as recommended by the Convenor and approved by the Executive Committee.

    2. The Sub Committee oversees NSJCA’s representative cricket program on behalf of the Executive Committee and is responsible for:
      • appointing selectors, coaches and managers
      • running selection trials
      • organising pre-season practice matches with other associations
      • providing grounds for squad training and pre-season matches
      • managing equipment
      • facilitating representative cricket clothing orders 
      • providing current information about carnivals, including for non-representative teams, and helping to organise teams 
      • arranging independent umpires to umpire IDCA matches
      • recommending and implementing changes to NSJCA’s representative cricket policy
      • assessing requests for exemptions to NSJCA’s representative cricket policy
      • recruiting Sub Committee members and volunteers needed to assist the Sub Committee
      • liaising with Cricket NSW about representative cricket
      • responding to questions from parents about the NSJCA representative cricket program.

  2. Nominations and Appointments
    • Nominations for membership of the Sub Committee are to be forwarded to NSJCA’s Executive Officer at: executiveofficer@nsjca.asn.au.  
    • The Executive Committee is to approve permanent appointments to the Sub Committee.  The NSJCA President is to approve temporary appointments.
    • The Sub Committee is to recommend coaches and managers for representative teams. NSJCA’s Executive Officer is to approve those appointments.

  3. Conflict of Interest
    • Members of the Sub Committee and volunteers who assist the Sub Committee are to recuse themselves from making a decision if:
      • they have a conflict of interest in relation to the decision; or 
      • there could be a perception of a conflict of interest if they participate in the decision.
